BOSCO SODI

Mexican artist, Bosco Sodi is known for his monumental, richly textured paintings and raw clay sculptures. Six years ago a sailing trip brought him to Folegandros, he stopped for one night and ended up buying land. Today the island is home to his family's house and his studio, and it even lent its name to a recent body of his work. Here is his perfect day on the island.

Where do you go to for breakfast?

Where do you go to for breakfast?

For a perfect day in Folegandros, start in Chora, the heart of the island. Go in the morning for a coffee and a light breakfast.

What do you do as a morning activity?

One of the most beautiful things on Folegandros is to walk to the different beaches. I love Katergo Beach. You can do a beach walk of around 45 minutes.

Where do you go for lunch?

Either the gyros at Maragkoudiko or Papalagi, a beautiful restaurant right on the water at Agios Nikolaos. You arrive by boat, or on foot along the coast from Agali beach.

What would you do as an afternoon activity?

Normally we just chill at the house. We listen to music, we have a sauna, and I work at the studio.

A dinner to never forget?

I highly recommend Spina, a small hotel near the beach. It's beautiful and the food is amazing.

Where do you go after dinner?

Where do you go after dinner?

Go back to Chora, it's very lively. Lots of very nice small bars. No discos, just small bars.

And that, for me, is a perfect day in Folegandros.
