Which neighborhood will we bump into you in Antwerp?

Most people love to hang in the south, but I spend my time in 2018, the neighbourhood I live in. I adore the architecture and the domestic atmosphere. People who are there are intentionally there, you don't just accidentally end up in this neighborhood.

Start the day right: Where do you get great coffee and pastries?

Start the day right: Where do you get great coffee and pastries?

For great coffee Caffènation PAKT never misses. After shopping or running errands I go to Nives for a warm drink and a pastry. The terrace looks straight into the park so great for a sunny day.

Where do you go shopping?

Where do you go shopping?

Mechelsesteenweg is one of my favourite streets to shop and stroll. My go-to vintage stores are Scruples, Luxeparel, and Stof Store. For furniture I really like Modest Furniture. I also love wandering in the thrift stores called De Kringwinkel and Leger des Heils for tableware, kitchen finds, and especially their book sections.

A Perfect Lunch?

A great lunch spot with the friendliest owners is Bar Vert, which has a lovely terrace and a cherry blossom tree.

How do you stay active in the city?

How do you stay active in the city?

I've recently become a victim of the reformer pilates cult. I've entered my holy era and I'm now a member of Rite Chapel in Groen Kwartier. It's great to start the day with a workout followed by a sauna and ice bath.

Things you love to do?

A real passion of mine is spending time in my kitchen. Real relaxation to me is making things from scratch like fresh juice, broths, milks, ice creams. For ingredients I love The Barn on Driekoningenstraat or Ekoplaza.

Nothing beats getting ready for dinner. Where do you like to go?

Repasse for traditional Belgian-French (the meatloaf with warm cherries and purée)

Apo’s for Japanese

Soixante for a proper date night

Extra Fika for something vegetarian and fresh

Kunthun 2 for a nonchalant Tibetan dinner

Brusketta for Negronis and pasta in summer

Do you like after dinner drinks?

Do you like after dinner drinks?

We usually don’t end the night at dinner so after we go to Café Bobby or Café Roodwit — the latter is also perfect on Sunday afternoons when there's live jazz, all the windows open and we sit outside, even in winter.

Believe it or not, it gets warm in summer. On warm summer nights I take a late walk to Zurenborg for ice cream at Crémerie Germaine and watch the kids play basketball at Dageraadplaats.
